Identification of problems
As I mentioned above there
are several problems that cause students of class XI SMAN 02 Kaur does not like
me English lessons sep e RTI eg English language is a language that
is difficult to understand, a language that can make the tongue sprain when
spoken, and so on . In addition there are factors that greatly affect students in
learning English, which is the factor of the teacher. For students of grade XI SMAN 02 Kaur, teachers who teach in
their class make them feel that English is a boring lesson. Because, the teacher in the classroom they only give them a
book, then the teacher forming them into groups and then tells them
to read a text in the book then they must be interpreted in the form of
Indonesian. After they translate the text
they will be asked to read it to the class. After that for their friends who have not had a turn came
forward, told to give their friends a
question g advanced sedan in front of the class. For those methods pembelaj a teacher who ran as it
makes them feel bored. They say that
sometimes the methods teachers use do not make them smarter in English,
sometimes in the group who do the work of their teachers only those people
alone and others just nebeng name only. The
method is very unlikable to them, but they do not dare to tell their teachers
that the method their teacher uses makes them dislike english, and does not
make them smart to speak english.

Formulation of the problem
a) Is the
teacher very influential in student interest to learn english ?
In the terminological
sense, in the interest sentence of learning, there are two terms each have
their own understanding, namely the term interest in learning and learning
terms. Understanding of the two words needs to be explained first before then
defining the term interest in learning that we should start from the word
interest. H. C. Witherington in his book of educational psychology means an
interest means the consciousness of a person, that an object, a person, a
matter or situation has to do with himself. Sadirman A. M in his interaction
and motivation to teach teach interpret interest as a condition that occurs
when a person sees the characteristics or meanings while the situation
associated with the desires or needs of his own needs.
Relation to student
learning interest, a teacher should be able to provide a new inivatif to
attract students, so that the learning process runs in accordance with the
expected goals. Basically interest is an inherent trait in the human self that
serves as a driver to do whatever it wants. Desire or interest and willingness
or will greatly affect the quality of achievement of student learning outcomes
that take a great interest in English education will focus more attention than
on other students. Then, because of the intensive concentration of attention to
the material that allows the student to study hard and ultimately achieve the
desired achievement. Teachers in this connection should seek to arouse
students' interest to master the knowledge contained in their field of study by
building positive traits. Interests serve as a driver of one's desires, a
desire-maker and as a motivator in doing that comes from within a person to do
something with the purpose and direction of everyday behavior.
Teacher is a very
influential figure in the world of education, a teacher has the responsibility
to educate his students. As an English teacher you have a responsibility to make your
students smart or able to speak english. Of
course, to repare them could speak English, a teacher must be able to
make the students like English first, because if they had liked the lesson so
they will easily understand or accept what you have taught them. And conversely, if they do not like it then they will be
subject to difficult to understand or accept what you've beentaught. Therefore, as a teacher you really determine the interest of
students in a subject.
C.
Research purposes
The purpose of this study
is to determine the factors of teachers to the interest of students to a
subject, especially on English subjects. because remember that English
is a very important language. And as a
teacher you should be aware of how to teach you whether it is correct or not. because the wrong teaching methods teachers will greatly
affect students' interest in learning one of these subjects, especially
English, which they think is a difficult language to be understood or studied. And as an English teacher you should know the method or
strategy that is right or that your learners prefer, so that they are
interested and not feel bored with the English language subjects.
